The Center for International Affairs at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) is excited to offer scholarships to undergraduate students participating in approved study abroad programs! Please read the eligibility requirements and application procedures outlined below.
Who: Students enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at CWRU who have unmet financial need. Preference will be given to undergraduate students who are typically underrepresented in study abroad. Students must have started an application for an approved study abroad program.
What: Scholarships ranging from
$500-$1,500 to use toward study abroad program costs.
When: For Study Abroad programs occurring during one of these terms: Winter Break, Spring Break, Spring (May Abroad), Summer I, Fall, Spring, Summer, Academic Year, Calendar Year.
Note: If you are applying to the "think: global" scholarship for a short term study abroad program (ex: winter break, spring break, et. al.) apply to the academic year in which the short term program will occur.
**You do not have to be accepted by CWRU Office of Education Abroad at the time of your scholarship application**

Samuel Rosenthal Scholarship

The Samuel Rosenthal Scholarship is provided by the Samuel Rosenthal Endowment Fund through the Case Western Reserve University College of Arts and Sciences. This fund is designated for study abroad and student exchange at Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
Applicants must have started a study abroad application for Hebrew University. Funds are contingent upon acceptance by Hebrew University. Funds will not be disbursed until acceptance letter, airline itinerary, and study abroad course approval form are completed.
Awardees are expected to serve as a student ambassador for Case Western Reserve University while attending Hebrew University, complete a 1-2 page report of their experiences at Hebrew University as a Rosenthal Scholar, and volunteer as a Study Abroad Ambassador to help promote study abroad.

Who: Students enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at CWRU. Preference will be given to students who are typically underrepresented in study abroad.

Where: Any IES Abroad program
When: For programs occurring during the Fall, Spring, Summer, Academic Year, and Calendar Year terms.

Weizmann Institute Scholarship

Conduct research at the Kupcinet-Getz International Summer School. Students will be matched with Weizmann Institute Scientists and become a part of a research team over the summer during the Kupcinet-Getz International Summer School at the Weizmann Institute in Israel. This eight-week research program offers research opportunities for math, physics, chemistry, life sciences, and computer science students. Students must be majoring in Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematics or Computer Science, must be in their third year of study, and must have a 3.6 GPA or better. Students will also attend lectures by top scholars, and present their final work at a mini-symposium at the end of the program. There is no tuition for this program. Housing and stipend of NIS 500/week is included.
