Program Purpose: Volunteer / Service Learning
Program Description:
The Center for Civic Engagement and Learning offers an international Alternative Spring Break service trip to that allows students to experience life in a rural Nicaragua community.  Service projects will include facilitating activities with the local school, helping to improve community infrastructure through basic contruction projects, and working on afterschool projects with a local youth group. Students will also participate in educational, cultural, and adventure activities such as visiting a local clinic, learning how to cook Nicaragua food, and taking a zipline adventure. The trip will provide students with a unique service-based immersion experience that will allow them to better understand Nicaraguan culture and history.
