ENGR 225B is a 3-week 'May Term' course held at the University of Botswana.  (Dates are May 23 - June 10 and may shift slightly.) The course intertwines engineering content with regional issues specific to sub-Saharan Africa.  Field trips will show how engineering solutions related to the course material are implemented within the economic and societal constraints of the region.

Topics: Elementary thermodynamic concepts: first and second laws, and equilibrium. Basic fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and mass transfer: microscopic and macroscopic perspectives.

ENGR 225B is taught by CWRU faculty, and fulfills all course requirements associated with ENGR 225. CWRU Pre-requisites for ENGR 225 and ENGR 225B are: CHEM 111, ENGR 145, PHYS 121.
